LETTER: Kerry is champion of women’s issues
December 5, 2003
Recently, Vanessa Kerry, Sen. John Kerry’s daughter, came to the ISU campus to talk about the importance of women’s issues in the upcoming presidential election. She raised some excellent points that really resonated with me and other women in the meeting.
There is a lot at stake for women in this election. Our future and the future of our families hinge upon the choices we make over the next year. Civil rights, national security, jobs, education and women’s health issues are all on the table, and as long as President Bush is in office, they remain in peril.
I have found John Kerry is the candidate who has the longest and most distinguished record in fighting for our issues. He is no newcomer to being a champion of the health and safety of women. I strongly support John Kerry in his run for the White House, and I encourage you to do the same.
