State of the Student Body
December 4, 2003
Senate
Most positive proactive Senate I have seen in the years I have been here.
Revived Terrace Parties.
Helped get out the vote.
Equipment for the Cricket Club.
Supported the 2nd Annual Cy’s All-Campus Leadership Summit.
Sent the ISU Paintball Club to the World Cup.
Put TVs in the Memorial Union.
Gave Veishea the chance for a bigger and better Dew the Rec.
Swords and armor for Kumdo.
Through Special Allocations, helped groups such as Cuffs, the Taiwanese Student Association and the Russian Speaking Student Association.
Communication with the City
Because of the issues affecting students, several students ran in last month’s election.
Yesterday, Matt Goodman won.
One step closer to ensuring our needs are heard at the city level.
Thanks to the GSB Committee on voting (Sen. Miller).
Entertainment for Students
Terrace parties and Dew the Rec
Student Appreciation Day was a success
Students are a critical component to every Cyclone athletic experience
Student Tailgating Committee has been chosen
Multicultural
Very complex
President’s Friday Conversations help provide education and understanding for diversity issues that effect us every day
However, I would like to see the next Conversation on Diversity not only reemphasize that we need a Multicultural Center on Campus, but a forum of where it should be and what should be in it
Legislative Relations
With the help of Director of Government Relations Groh and the Senate Committee on Government Relations, begun the most comprehensive legislative outreach program we have ever had here at Iowa State
State Student Association
