LETTER: ‘Total control’ is becoming way to go

While reading a plethora of recent articles and letters referring to the socialist aspects of many new policies in this country, I ask myself, “What’s the problem with that?” To me, it seems the way to go is total control.

President Bush’s government should take control of the entire medical industry. In fact, maybe communism is the way to go — let him take over the rest of the economy. If you look at all the success he’s had in creating jobs over the last three years, you can see what a great idea that would be! We wouldn’t be hearing about the liberal media anymore, because he would control it, and that would solve many disagreements. While we’re at it, why don’t we let the government decide our moral values, like those concerning sex and marriage? They keep trying to do this anyway through banning gay marriages and abortions — why not just let them make all of our decisions?

Overall, President Bush and his cabinet have done an outstanding job of running our lives for the past three years. Why not give them more powers? It seems to me that it worked pretty well in the U.S.S.R., Cuba and East Germany for a long time … we should learn more from them!
