Bi-Fi brings local music to M-Shop

This Friday at the M-Shop, for the second year in a row, local label Bi-Fi Records will present the artists and bands who have helped to make the label a success.

The evening will be highlighted by Frankenixon, The Poison Control Center, The Envy Corps, Organ Donor and Joe Terry. In addition, former Pookey Bleum member Aaron Hefley and lead singer of the now-defunct Keepers of the Carpet will make appearances.

After the show, Frankenixon will travel to California, where they will be recording their upcoming album at indie legend John Vanderslice’s Tiny Telephone Studios in San Francisco.

Joe Williams, co-owner of Bi-Fi, says he and everyone involved with the show are thrilled to be returning to the historic hallows of the Shop.

“We love the M-Shop. It’s the best venue in Ames,” Williams says. “They are very supportive.”

The performance will begin at 8 p.m. Friday. Tickets for the event are $5 for students and $6 for the public.
