LETTER: Required insurance is discriminatory
September 1, 2003
Regarding Jill Sederstrom’s Aug. 28 article, “Students may be required to carry health insurance,” this would be another blatantly illegal policy announcement by the administration, in the proud tradition of limiting free speech on campus and in the dorms.
Since they may deny admission unless health insurance is purchased, I propose they also bar admission unless the applicant can show they are registered to the Democratic party. And they may also only own Chevys. And they may only be of the Catholic faith. This is all to protect the poor, ignorant students, of course. After all, only the administration can possibly know what is best for you.
