Student verbally assaulted
September 16, 2003
A veterinary medicine student reported to ISU Police Monday he had been assaulted in the Veterinary Medicine building by an unknown man.
The student, whose name is being withheld, reported the man yelled obscenities and attempted to spit on the student in a hallway near the Vet Med Library. The man became more aggravated after spitting and “squared off” with the victim, said ISU Police Capt. Gene Deisinger. Officers responded to a call at the Veterinary Medicine building just before 5 p.m. and searched the area but found no one matching the unknown man’s description.
Deisinger said the unknown man is described as being a white male, approximately 40 years old, 5 feet 10 inches, average build with silvery gray hair. He was wearing blue jeans and had an earring in his left ear.
Deisinger said the student did not know the suspect or the motive for the assault.
There are no suspects at this time, but ISU Police is still investigating the case.
