LETTER: More buses needed for bigger crowds
September 14, 2003
It is already the fourth week of classes, and it seems CyRide still hasn’t figured out that more buses are needed at some routes during certain hours. For example, every Tuesday and Thursday evening I find myself waiting at Beyer Hall along with 30 or so more people. Then, the buses that come are already at half or two-thirds capacity. Some people wait 20+ minutes in order to get onto one. An easy solution is sending two units at the same time like they do during morning rush hours.
One last thing to drivers — if the bus is packed, go easy on the brakes or turns; there are a lot of people standing. Remember, getting a “free” ride shouldn’t mean a lower quality one.
