Former ISU wrestler Cael Sanderson will wrestle for bronze after losing in the freestyle semifinals at the Pan American Games Thursday in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

Sanderson, a four-time national champion in his college career, lost 3-2 in overtime to Cuban Yoel Romero in his third 185-pound match.

Earlier Thursday, Sanderson had recorded two easy victories to advance to the semifinals.

Both wins were 10-0 technical falls. Sanderson defeated Dario Garcia of the Dominican Republic and Daniel Iglesia of Argentina.
