The information in the blotter comes from ISU Police records provided to the Daily. All those accused of violating the law are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
- July 20
- Jessica Johnson, 19, Mapleton, was arrested and charged with operating while intoxicated in Lot C2.
- Implied consent was invoked on a driver who refused to submit to chemical testing on Welch Avenue.
- Wayne Kurschinski Jr., 20, 417 Crystal St., was cited for underage possession of alcohol on West Street.
- July 21
- A staff member reported receiving a harassing fax message at Beardshear Hall.
- A resident reported the theft of a cellular telephone at Eaton Hall. The incident occurred sometime during the past two weeks.
- Vehicles owned and/or driven by Lonnie Barber and Catherine Curtis were involved in a property damage collision in Lot 53.
- Melissa Seneche, 3006 Woodland Dr., reported the theft of a bike at Ross Hall.
- July 22
- Faith Maina, 20, of West Des Moines, was charged with driving under suspension at Hayward Avenue and Lincoln Way.
- Andrew Hernandez, 23, 209 North Hyland Ave., was arrested and charged with public intoxication and interference with official acts on Hyland Avenue.
- Mathew Muma, 164C University Village, reported the theft of clothing and a laundry basket at University Village Laundry. The incident occurred last weekend.
- A resident reported the theft of a license plate at Frederiksen Court.
- Vehicles owned and/or driven by Ken Schmidt and Matthew Gervais were involved in a property damage collision in Lot 65.
- A staff member reported the theft of dictionaries from a locker at Pammel Court Laundry.
- July 23
- Lisa Leiting, 24, 600 Squaw Creek Dr., was arrested and charged with operating while intoxicated at Knapp Street and Stanton Avenue.
- Lance Shonts, 23, 212 South Hyland Ave., was arrested and charged with operating while intoxicated at Hazel Avenue and Lincoln Way. He was also wanted by the Ames Police Department for an outstanding warrant.
- Jason Funke, 24, 330 South Fourth St., was charged with driving under suspension at Chamberlain Street and Welch Avenue.
- Officers referred the following to Juvenile Court Services officials: A 16-year-old male for underage possession of alcohol; a 17-year-old male for prohibited acts; a 16-year-old female for underage possession of alcohol; a 16-year-old female for underage possession of alcohol and possession of drug paraphernalia; and a 16-year-old female for underage possession of alcohol and a .02 civil violation at YMCA Park Area.
- Timothy Stover, 18, Maxwell Ave., was charged with possession of a controlled substance.
- A vehicle driven by Rui Gong struck a fence, a bike and a grill at University Village.
