LETTER: United States is now less accepting, free
July 14, 2003
Three years ago when I came here for school, I was convinced the United States was a land of equality, dreams and future. Now everything is different — there are no equal rights, hate abounds and there is no freedom.
When a disaster happens, we blame others. We never give ourselves enough time to think before we speak. Everyone who is the same color is blamed. Everyone who speaks the same language is blamed and everyone who practices the same religion is blamed.
Where is the land of dreams that every person used to dream of living in, the land that everyone liked, not the country whose government is warning every other country that its turn is coming?
