LETTER: Great player missing from All-Star lineup

While I agree with Josh Madden’s views in his July 10 column, “More pressure, fan voting and bad players equal a rotten Midsummer Classic,” 100 percent, I’m a bit surprised he forgot to mention whom I feel is the biggest snub of all this year, Torii Hunter.

The man is making insane saves and homerun stealing catches night in and night out. He’s topped the ESPN Top 10 plays countless times, and is just a fun player to watch.

Yes, he may only be batting .255, but his play has warranted at least a spot in the reserves. His catch against Bond last year is the only thing I can really recall, except for the fact the game ended in a tie.

The whole ordeal has left a sour taste in a lot of fans’ mouths, and for me, it’s becoming harder and harder every year to stay a devoted fan of the MLB. Simply put, the All-Star lineup sucks!
