LETTER: Marijuana laws not protective of rights

This letter is in response to Myron Peto’s June 26 article “Marijuana Native to Iowa.” This was an interesting article — however, you failed to point out that, thanks to insane U.S. drug laws, Iowa State is committing a felony, and the cannabis plants can be confiscated by the government at any time without a trial.

Rather than joking about the wild cannabis plants, everyone should realize how marijuana laws are undermining the Bill of Rights; particularly the First, Fourth, and Tenth amendments.
