Golfers compete in local tournaments

Several members of the ISU men’s golf program played in local tournaments last weekend.

In the Iowa Masters tournament, held at Veenker Memorial Golf course in Ames, sophomore-to-be Drew Dalziel finished in third place with a 1-under-par 215 during the three-day event.

The other Cyclone competitors were:

* Senior-to-be Jeremy Lyons, who finished fourth with an even-par 216

* Sophomore-to-be Tyler Swanson, who finished in a tie for seventh with a 5-over-par 221

* Sophomore-to-be Tyler Brady, who finished tied for 12th place with a 223

* Redshirt freshman Dane Odden, who shot a 228 and finished in 30th place

Also over the weekend, ISU men’s golf coach Jay Horton finished tied for ninth place at the Iowa Open tournament at the Irv Warren course in Waterloo. Horton shot a 15-under-par 201.
