LETTER: Daily’s sports pages lack diverse coverage

I am truly disappointed with the sports section in this paper.

I flip through and instead of being able to check the scores on the Stanley Cup playoffs or see how the ISU Hockey or Roller Hockey teams are doing, I see articles about golf filling up space. I do not understand why the Daily staff will not write about their own teams or even major playoffs but would rather fill space with an only slightly interesting article about a game that was not even a major one.

This paper should embrace the diversity of sports and move away from foot-ball-, basketball- and baseball-centered coverage and start covering hockey, swimming and the other teams that students are also interested in.

I am not saying that football, basketball and baseball are not the only sports but that there is so much more that could and should be included.
