LETTER: Editorial ignores IRHA successes

This letter is in response to the April 7 editorial “Twombley did little, left little behind.” I am glad to see our weak presidency was noticed, but you cannot blame all of IRHA for that. IRHA has been trying to look at issues facing their constituency. Yes, a lot of the information did get caught in the unproductive president’s agenda, but things that did make it to IRHA were faced successfully.

Also, I don’t understand how one or two people are enough to call all IRHA leaders unprofessional. We didn’t receive the letter to inform us of his resignation. The majority of parliament did not find out until the following IRHA meeting when Keith explained his reasoning.

What I don’t understand is how an editorial board can complain about us being unprofessional as an organization when you don’t think our events are good enough to print. Residence Hall Week was hardly in the Daily this year.

Maybe the editorial board should look at what their organization is doing before they criticize others. Also, look past the president and you’ll see IRHA has a lot of great leaders that have been working hard this year. I’m not going to say this is a spectacular year for IRHA, but at least we have faced issues and had the students’ voices heard.
