This letter is in regards to the March 5 editorial on GSB executive candidates Shawn Faurote and Vicky Lio, “Lack of research hurts slate’s campaign.” Wow, someone over at the Daily sure has the wrong picture.

The editorial says their experience doesn’t stack up. I think the pair is in a unique position to bring change to GSB. They have the experience to know how the system works, yet they are new enough to student government to realize that just because something has been done some way in the past, doesn’t mean it is the best way. The editorial says words like “communication” and “information” are just political lingo and rhetoric. I say they are exactly the things that GSB is lacking. It says that Shawn and Vicky need to focus on what they can do for students. That is exactly what they’re doing.

I would encourage students not to blindly accept the Daily’s opinion. Instead, come and decide for yourselves at the next GSB executive debate, Thursday at 8 p.m. in Room 244 of Carver Hall.
