LETTER: Helser labor costs do not add up
March 13, 2003
Honestly, I find it extremely hard to believe that fixing a couple of doors cost the residence hall $5,000 dollars. I mean, Helser has stock doors just like the rest of the residence hall doors. How can stock door parts cost that much?
Plus, if you put labor into it, it just doesn’t add up. To fix a door by an experienced maintenance crew can’t take more than 15 to 30 minutes. Does our maintenance crew get paid $100 an hour or something? This just doesn’t add up.
