LETTER: Professionalism of gyro stand pays off
March 6, 2003
I had the opportunity to read Matt Goodman’s guest column regarding the concerns brought about by Jimmy John’s (“Gyros’ success hinges upon respect for community,” March 3).
There are very few merchants in the community that operate with the professionalism as those at the gyro stand. Their employees always say “please” and “thank you.”
The employees also make sure that the after-bar crowd behaves, and does not allow budging in line. Mr. Goodman and his staff run a first class operation.
Also, what a class act from Kum and Go to aid in the restroom issue. I will support Kum and Go in the future. I will continue to go down to campustown for my gyros.
I will not be eating at Jimmy John’s in campustown or downtown. Downtown has many dining options, and the Downtown Deli is just one block from Jimmy John’s and offers the personal touch and good neighbor that Jimmy John’s obviously feels is not important.
