LETTER: Roofies not an antidepressant
February 24, 2003
In the Feb. 21 editorial “Penalties should increase for ‘roofies’,” you stated, “No matter the name, this antidepressant is a threat to anyone who drinks at a party or a club.” ÿ
Rohypnol (generic name: flunitrazepam) is a hypnotic or a sleep-inducing drug, but it is not an antidepressant as indicated in your editorial. Rohypnol belongs to the same group of hypnotic drugs as Valium (diazepam).
