Regents will review budgets for MacKay Hall, stadium projects

The Board of Regents telephonic board meeting Wednesday will include a discussion to approve ISU capital improvement projects. The board will discuss approving a revised budget for the previously approved multipurpose indoor practice facility that will be constructed near Jack Trice Stadium on the ISU campus.

The regents will also look to approve a revised project budget for MacKay Hall renovation.

The Indoor Multipurpose Use and Training Facility was approved to proceed in January, according to board documents.

The construction contract was awarded to The Weitz Company in Des Moines in the amount of $8,077,000.

The requested change would provide savings to the construction contract of up to $425,000.

The revised budget of $9,696,800, an increase of $325,000, includes additional funding from bond proceeds and private funds.

Also included in the capital improvement is the renovation of the Food Science and Human Nutrition Laboratory in MacKay Hall.

The revised budget for that project is $1,420,000, an increase of $320,000.

Other items on the docket for the meeting include a resolution for the sale of $6,080,000 Utility System Revenue Refunding Bonds, approval of the Board meetings schedule, and to approve additions to Iowa State’s list of vendors.

The public can attend the meeting at noon Wednesday in Room 1750 Beardshear Hall.
