I am a resident of Fairchild House in Roberts Hall. The last couple of weeks my fellow residents have been sending letters to Randy Alexander, the director of Residence Halls here at Iowa State. Three people sent letters to Randy Alexander about the Fresh Start program and the 75/25 rule taking place in the dorms for next year.

What upsets me the most about Mr. Alexander is that he is not listening to the students. He sent back responses to these student’s letters, which I thought was a good thing — until I read them and found out that they were all the same letter, even though the students wrote about different topics in the Fresh Start program.

All my fellow residents and I want is for Mr. Alexander to listen and not rebuff us with letters of statistics and information that we already know. So, maybe the next time you receive a letter in the mail from a student, Mr. Alexander, please read it and send a personal response — not one that was prepared and copied by your secretary.
