The Chevron Phillips Chemical Company LP announced its continued support of Iowa State’s college of engineering with a gift of $20,000, according to ISU Foundation employees.

Mary Jane Hagenson, vice president of research and technology at CPChem LP, presented the gift to Iowa State.

CPChem LP contributed $31,900 to Iowa State in fiscal year 2001-2002, said Ann Wilson, communications director for the ISU Foundation.

“We appreciate the support of Chevron Phillips,” she said.

This is the second year Chevron has given money to Iowa State, Wilson said.

The gift is used for scholarships and professional development opportunities for engineering students, said James Melsa, dean of the college of engineering.

“This kind of support is extremely important to us as tuition and other costs continue to rise,” he said.

Melsa said the money will support student organizations as well.
