An ISU sophomore reported a sexual assault to ISU Police Wednesday.

The woman said she was sexually assaulted early Saturday morning at an off-campus location.

Capt. Gene Deisinger, ISU Police, said the woman reported being assaulted by an acquaintance, whom she was able to identify.

At this time it is not known if and when charges will be filed. Deisinger said police still need to talk to the woman to determine if she will choose to file charges.

“The investigation is very preliminary,” he said.

No additional details about the incident have been released.
