Meal plans to change

Several proposed dining plans were presented to members of the Inter-Residence Hall Association at its first meeting of the semester.

There will be several new plans offered along with the current meal options to students living both on and off campus.

A Premium Plan, which has an unlimited number of meals and $100 dining dollars, will be offered.

The use of Dining Dollars will be implemented across campus, including C-Stores, Design Cafe and the Memorial Union, said Eric Peters, Willow Hall representative.

Restaurants not in the main food court of the Memorial Union will not take Dining Dollars, but students will be possibly be able to use dining dollars in the Hub later this year, he said.

One of the food court’s line s is already CyCash accessible.

Randy Alexander, director of the Department of Residence, and Jon Lewis, director of campus dining, will be at the next IRHA meeting to discuss changes to meal plans and the terms and conditions for living in the residence halls.

Lewis has been working hard to offer students more options with their dining plans, said President Keith Twombley.

“Jon Lewis has proven himself to be receptive to change,” he said.

“[He has] even gone beyond, by being more flexible.”

Twombley also said there are several vacant positions, including Free Friday Flicks. The position is important to fill because of the popularity of the program.

The offices of director of academic affairs, information technology and secretary are also open, said Vice President, Jessi Raim.

Applications for these positions can be found on the IRHA Web site at http://irha.us/.
