LETTER: Blame game issues

Excuses are for the weak.

As a long time reader of the Daily and its Opinion section, I have an observation. U.S. citizens — mainly Democrats — are talking out of both sides of their mouth.

I read letters to the editor about various subjects and most of them do the same thing. They blame something else for society’s problems.

What happened to taking responsibility for your own actions?

We seem to come up with some lame excuse as to why our nation is heading toward the crapper.

People talk about being abused as a child. If you go by today’s definition of abuse, I would say most people over 25 were abused as children. Today instead of hitting, they like to put kids in “time-out.”

Where the heck was that idea when I was hiding the breadboard after just sassing my mother?

As adults we need to get over our past and do what is right today.

We all know the difference between right and wrong. I don’t think anyone’s parents are so bad that they do not teach their children that much.

People debate the violence on TV and games causes problems. I do agree with this statement; however, can’t parents restrict their child’s TV programs?

You ask the government to help, and you have your hand out. When it is time for you to take a stand, you turn your back and the finger pointing begins.

The solutions are simple but overlooked: 1) Get back to simple morals and values of the generations of the past, 2) Become a well-knit family, 3) Don’t get sucked into the power of money.

And finally, remember it is not nice to point fingers.
