LETTER:Achievements too easily disregarded

I opened up Thursday’s Daily to read Mr. Jonathon Lotz’s annual bickering about GSB and it never fails to astound me that a political science major can draft such an twisted analysis of a public body (Dec. 5, “GSB proves itself useless once again.”). The view must be pretty good from the cheap seats.

Yes, Mr. Lotz, there are some issues that are pretty small that we deal with. But I guess in venting your blind rage toward GSB, you may have overlooked a few things.

GSB has completed numerous projects this year designed to help the students here at Iowa State. Extending the hours of CyRide, purchasing colposcopes for the Student Health Center and Mary Greeley Hospital, which assist in collecting evidence for victims of sexual assault) and making the BRAD 21 program permanent are just a few of the many projects that are completed. And there is more on the way, including campus lighting, getting ITC more equipment and other ideas that students bring us.

If adjusting the meeting times is what he thinks is the biggest accomplishment this semester, in light of his previous irrational letters, I’ll take that as a compliment.

GSB is always here, ready to serve students as best we can. If you would like to know more about us, just ask. You can go to the GSB Web site www.gsb. iastate.edu and contact your representatives and get them working for you.
