Cyclones drop from rankings

After dropping a 63-61 decision to Drake last Wednesday, the then-20th-ranked ISU women’s basketball team dropped out of the Associated Press poll for the first time in 4 1/2 years.

They had been ranked in the AP poll dating back to the start of the 1998 season when they opened the year ranked 22nd.

“That is definitely a great thing to stay in there so long,” ISU head coach Bill Fennelly said.

“A lot of other programs can’t say they were in there as long as us, but right now we don’t deserve to be in there.”
