LETTER:Walton’s blubbering adds nothing

Zac Reicks’ commentary (“Walton adds colorful commentary to NBA games,” Nov. 1) on Bill Walton is insane. I would personally choose to watch reruns of “Reading Rainbow” than to subject my ears to the blabbering, inconceivable comments from Walton. Reicks’ brave article is notable, considering Walton is a horrible broadcaster in the NBA.

There are many reasons for why many sports fans dislike Walton. However, I do not have the space to comment on all of them. Here are a few good choices in my book.

Comments of Walton’s such as, “Nothing but net on this one,” after Reggie Miller banked a shot in, makes a person wonder if he rode to the game with the Grateful Dead. Along with Walton’s reckless play-by-play analysis, his speaking abilities are quite limited. He overcame a stuttering impairment, but come on, is he talking with food in his mouth?

In addition to these matters, Walton argues with his fellow sports announcers during there broadcast.

When Steve “Snapper” Jones corrects Walton on his foolish statements, Walton tends to argue with Jones. When listening to Walton argue, people think to themselves, is he this stupid?

Walton is a terrible broadcaster. When I see his goofy smile on television, I will definitely terminate my plans of watching the NBA. I would rather spend my time reading out of my biology book.
