LETTER:Quirmbach is for student issues

We are writing this letter to urge you to support Herman Quirmbach for Iowa State Senate. Years of teaching experience at all levels, from high school to college, has given him first hand knowledge of the need to provide a quality education program to the future leaders of our community, state, and nation.

Herman is committed to support both K-12 and Regents educational programs in Iowa. As an associate professor of economics at Iowa State University, Herman is ready to tackle the tough economic issues that are needed to strengthen the Iowa economy and to bring good jobs to Iowa.

Herman is also committed to protect the rights of all Iowans, including a long record as an activist for the rights of minorities and women. He supports increasing human services for seniors, mental health, and medical coverage for Iowa’s needy children.

Herman has consistently shown his ability to build bipartisan support and consensus, working timelessly for projects such as turning Hallet’s Quarry into the invaluable Ada Hayden Heritage Park.

We need this no-nonsense style and perseverance to support the many environmental issues that now face Iowa, including support of REAP, local control of livestock confinement facilities, and strengthening Iowa’s bottle bill.

Herman Quirmbach’s record clearly makes him the best candidate for the Iowa Senate. Vote for Herman Quirmbach on Nov. 5.
