UPDATE: Democrats lead in Iowa, Story County races

* Gov. Tom Vilsack is leading the polls with a 54 percent lead over Republican candidate Doug Gross, who is at 44 percent, with 70 precincts reporting. Gross has just conceded the race to Vilsack.
* Sen. Tom Harkin, a Democrat, is leading Republican Greg Ganske 55 to 43 percent with 70 percent of precincts reporting. Harkin has just made his victory speech.
* Republican Rep. Tom Latham has a 53 percent edge over Democrat John Norris, who’s at 45 percent with 58 percent of precincts reporting.
* State Senate District 23: Democrat Herman Quirmbach has a 54.71 percent lead over Republican Barbara Finch, who is at 42.09 percent, and Libertarian Eric Cooper has 2.99 percent with 21 of 23 precincts reporting.
* State House District 45: Democrat Jane Greimann has a 60.2 percent edge over Republican Roman Lynch, who is at 36.60 percent, and Libertarian Phillip Burgmeier has 3.06 percent with 100 percent of precincts reporting.
* State House District 46: Democrat Lisa Heddens has a 54.01 percent lead over Republican Steve Halloran, who is at 45.93 percent, with 100 percent of precincts reporting.
* Story County Attorney: Democrat Stephen Holmes has won with a 54.13 percent victory over Republican Daniel Gonnerman, who came in at 45.76 percent, with 100 percent of precincts reporting.
* Story County Recorder: Republican Susan Vande Kamp has won 98.67 percent of the votes over write-in candidates with 100 percent of precincts reporting.
* Story County Treasurer: Republican David Jamison has won with a 57.93 percent victory over Democrat Sue North, who is at 41.98 percent, with 100 of the precincts reporting.
