LETTER:Caucasians suffer scheduling bias

In regards to the letter about registration difficulties, I completely agree.

My roommate is here on a minority scholarship and registered almost a month before I did, even though she is taking the same level classes as I am.

While she zipped through her schedule in five minutes — getting every class she wanted and every teacher of her choice — I spent two hours on AccessPlus, only to sign up for 6 credits that must be used as electives, even though I don’t need any more electives.

How can students graduate when they can’t get into the classes required for their major? The students here at Iowa State are too accepting of policies like these. I feel as if I am being discriminated against because I am a middle-class Caucasian.

Isn’t it enough that I take out loans and pay for all of my education? Shouldn’t I be able to get into the classes I need?
