LETTER:Keep the Cyclone spirit alive and fun
October 10, 2002
On behalf of the Iowa State University Department of Athletics and the Cyclone football program, we would like to recognize and thank all of the fans and alumni who continue to support our Cyclone teams. Your enthusiasm, loyalty and attendance at the games is greatly appreciated.
We want to encourage you to remember to continue to treat visiting fans and teams with respect. Cyclone fans have developed a reputation for loyalty, enthusiasm and sportsmanship. This reputation mirrors that of our entire athletics program, including Cyclone football.
It is a reputation of integrity and character. There is no place for any type of unsportsmanlike behavior, including profanity on T-shirts. We are asking you, our loyal fans, to team up with our student-athletes and entire team staff and represent this university with the highest standards of sportsmanship. We are asking no more of our fans than we ask of our student-athletes, coaches and staff. Iowa State University, our fans and alumni are respected and recognized in the Big 12 Conference and across the country for their loyalty and support. Please remember, fan sportsmanship reflects on Iowa State University and our teams. Thank you for your support. Please continue to cheer loud and proud as Cyclone football continues one of the most exciting seasons in ISU history.
