The Inter-Residence Hall Association will introduce a bill allocating $1,500 to the purchase of a new Web server Thursday.
Brian Macomber, director of information technology, said the server is unreliable because it is used for other IRHA business.
“[The server is] not going to be an office machine anymore, which will eliminate all of the problems we’ve had,” he said. “It will allow us to keep the Web site up all the time.”
Macomber also said there is information on the IRHA Web site that is helpful to residence hall students, such as voter registration forms, a place to voice complaints or suggestions, IRHA legislation and a link to dining service menus.
A bill will also be introduced that will make technical changes to the bylaws.
President Keith Twombley said the bill will change a few titles, remove some outdated member requirements, and remove the director of information technology from the board of the student radio station, KURE, which will not be funded by IRHA next year.
The meeting will be held Thursday at 7 p.m. in the Oak Room of the Memorial Union.
