ESPN to attend Nebraska game
ESPN will shoot several live shots for their College GameDay segment from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. Saturday before the Iowa State-Nebraska football game.
Reporter Shelley Smith, an award-winning journalist and noted author in her third year with ESPN, will be with her team in Lot S-7, directly in front of Gate 2.
“The idea is to show the world that Iowa State football is back on the map,” Smith said.
Smith said her team will be giving away hats and T-shirts starting at 9 a.m., and fans should look for ESPN banners.
They’ll also give away prizes for things like best signs and best face paint.
Tailgate ’02, presented by Chevy Trucks and ESPN The Magazine, will also be located in the southeast side parking lot next to the stadium from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m.
Fans will have the chance to test their skills on the human dartboard or to try their hand at the goal-line bungee run. Sega Sports will also have new video games set up.
The game starts at 2:30 p.m.
Boxing club extends open invitation
The ISU boxing club will hold an open house today from 5 to 7 p.m. in the State Gym basement. All are welcome to attend the open house.
Students can visit with current team members, step into the new ring, try out the punching bags and get some free food and drink.
