LETTER:Atheist strategy for dealing with tragedy

In response to Tuesday’s letter, the question “Where was God on Sept. 11th?” has been broached. The ISU Atheist & Agnostic Society held a forum later that same semester asking just that question. Doctors Avalos and Patterson both gave presentations to answer the question from a non-religious viewpoint.

Our group seeks to make atheists and agnostics heard with lectures, debates and other public events. In fact this weekend we are sponsoring the showing of The Truman Show by SUB Films. We want to show that having no religion doesn’t make someone the cold, heartless robot we are portrayed as, but that atheists and agnostics are humans with emotions and rational thought.
