The Inter-Residence Hall Association filled one more cabinet seat at Thursday’s meeting.

Eleven people voted in favor of Brian Macomber, senior in management information systems, to fill the position of Director of Information Technology, while four people abstained.

However, four cabinet positions still need to be filled, IRHA President Keith Twombley said.

The open positions include Director of Finance, Director of Special Events, Director of Academic Affairs and Secretary.

Those interested can apply online (irha.stuorg.iastate.edu/apply.php).

Twombley also talked about ISU Talk, a test Web site he helped create over the summer.

“We set it up to be a resource tool for anyone at Iowa State – or anyone on the planet,” Twombley said. “I’d like to see IRHA adopt it as a source of information for people.”

Students can already access the test Web site (isutalk.dhs.org).

Clayton Johanson, president of Free Friday Flicks, also spoke at the meeting, and handed out the tentative movie schedule.

“Free Friday Flicks is funded by IRHA on Friday nights over in Carver Hall,” said Johanson, senior in transportation and logistics. “[It’s] meant for residence hall students and their guests. We have about 10 movies a year.”

He said they have more money this year for free films. The first film will be “Lilo and Stitch” on Sept. 9, with showings at 6:30, 7 and 9 p.m. in Carver Hall.

“We have a good selection of movies from this summer, a lot of blockbusters,” Johanson said.
