Lance’s dream comes true

After months of hedging, the Russian Space Agency has finally decided that Lance Bass has the right stuff.

The agency has asked the International Space Station Multilateral Coordination Board for permission to launch the `N SYNC singer as early as this fall, according to a letter sent to the nation-partners in the International Space Station.

“It’s official, he’s their candidate,” confirmed NASA spokesperson Dwayne Brown on Tuesday. “We did indeed receive a letter nominating Lance Bass for the October flight.”

Bass’ backers are still working out the financial details of the business plan to fund his $20 million flight, but said that the process is moving along.

New info on Aaliyah crash

The pilot in the plane crash that killed Aaliyah in August had traces of cocaine and alcohol in his body, the Bahamas Department of Civil Aviation announced Tuesday, according to the Associated Press.

An autopsy of Luis Morales III, showed cocaine in his urine and alcohol in his stomach.

Twelve days before the August 25 crash, Morales pleaded no contest to cocaine possession in Pompano Beach, Florida, and was sentenced to three years of probation. His pilot’s license should have been revoked, although it had yet to be at the time of the crash.
