ESPN 100 names Sanderson No. 40

Cael Sanderson is still hauling in the awards after finishing up his ISU wrestling career with an undefeated record of 159-0.

Sanderson was honored by ESPN The Magazine Tuesday when the publication selected the ESPN 100 – a ranking of the best moments in sports of the past 12 months.

Sanderson came in at number 40 with the completion of his record-breaking career.

Veenker to host tournaments

The Veenker Club Championship will be held Saturday and Sunday and the Iowa Junior Masters golf tournament will take place Monday and Tuesday.

On Aug. 11, the final round of the Ames City Golf Tournament will be held at Veenker. The course will be the site of a 3-player best shot tournament on Aug. 25, which is open to the public for $40 per person. Anyone wishing to compete can contact Veenker at 294-6727.
