Big week at Iowa State Center

Two big name performers will be bringing their acts to Iowa State this week. Actress and comedian Brett Butler will be performing stand-up at Fisher Theater Thursday night. Butler is probably most remembered for her role in “Grace Under Fire,” which ran on ABC for four years and garnered Butler a People’s Choice Award for Favorite Female in a New Series. But Butler made a name for herself through her stand-up, which she has been doing for 18 years..

Saturday marks the second country music superstar to pass through Ames this year. Alan Jackson played Hilton April 11. This time around, it’s Tim McGraw, who has sold over 25 million records in his career and is one of the most widely known figures in country music today. McGraw and opening act The Warren Brothers play Saturday at 8 p.m. Tickets are still available.
