Partridge headed to Eastern Illinois
Charlie Partridge has taken a position as defensive line coach and recruiting coordinator at Eastern Illinois. Partridge was a key figure in bringing in Cyclone recruiting classes that lifted Iowa State football to 16 wins and a pair of bowl games the past two seasons.
“My long term goal is to be a defensive coordinator and so I’m looking forward to getting back on the field at a successful program like Eastern Illinois,” Partridge said. “I have so many great memories and I am grateful to Dan McCarney for giving me the opportunity to come to Iowa State for the best four years of my life.”
Partridge had been with Iowa State since 1998.
“Charlie has done a great job for us and we will miss him,” McCarney said. “I understand his desire to get back down on the field coaching. This move will help him reach his career goals.”
McCarney said a search for a successor will begin immediately.
