LETTER:`Biggest joke on campus’ comes through again

Ben Rolf

I’ve never laughed as hard as I did reading the Daily’s account of GSB’s recent debate on a dress code. GSB has always been the biggest joke on campus, but this is a new low. Wait until these future leaders of America get real jobs.

I’d love to see Jeremy Hayes show up on his first day protesting the “Western, middle-class white ordeal” in his skirt and pantyhose. And what an ordeal it is to be forced to look nice for a meeting. I know paying for nice clothes is such a burden, especially for those “large women.”

I’m glad college has prepared these senators for the real world. I’d say if everybody wasn’t convinced before of GSB’s worthlessness they should be now. End this sideshow altogether. If this were put up to a vote it would pass with three times the votes that were cast in the last election. GSB’s sole purpose is to allocate student fees. We could drop those, too, and let students keep their money to spend on the activities of their choosing, or perhaps on a new set of dress clothes.
