Five tennis players on academic team

The Big 12 Conference has selected five ISU women’s tennis players to the 2002 Academic All-Big 12 Teams.

Senior Karin Westberg, juniors Tara Goedjen and Courtney Leese and sophomore Sabrina Evers were selected to the 44 member first-team with grade-point averages of 3.2 or better. Senior Noortje Cornelissen was the lone Cyclone named to the second team with a GPA between 3.0 and 3.19.

The Cyclones ended their season Thursday with a 4-0 loss to Kansas State at the Big 12 Tennis Tournament.

Pingeton elevated to associate coach

Robin Pingeton has been elevated to the position of associate head coach for the ISU women’s basketball program.

“We wanted to show how important Robin is to the success of our program,” head coach Bill Fennelly said.

Pingeton came to ISU in May 2000 as an assistant coach.
