Block and Bridle will have award ceremony
April 3, 2002
The Block and Bridle Club’s annual award ceremony will recognize animal science student accomplishments this week.
“We celebrate the year we’ve had and celebrate the year to come,” said Chelcee Hindman, freshman in animal science and club member.
The awards ceremony will include an announcement and recognition of scholarship winners, as well as a slide show presentation. Festivities will be held at Hickory’s Hall, 300 S. 17th St., Friday at 5:30 p.m.
“We have honorary members that we’re going to be awarding,” said Jenni Krebill, sophomore in agricultural engineering and club member.
Other awards will recognize leadership and outstanding senior students, Hindman said.
In addition to the awards and presentations, there will also be a formal dinner, Hindman said.
The evening will also include a dance between 9 p.m. and midnight. Cost for the dance, which is open to the public, is $5.
Block and Bridle, a student organization, is involved with many activities related to animal science. Hindman said the club is strong in academics as well as activities that further animal science.
Hindman said the club sponsors a variety of activities each year, including livestock shows and a career day.
