EDITORIAL:Vandalism not the answer
April 17, 2002
People are up in arms about the Jischke Honors Building. They don’t want the former president’s name on a building on a campus they say he didn’t care enough about.
But, c’mon people, vandalism is not the answer.
No one knows who spray-painted the sign outside the honors building. Disgruntled professors? Angry average students? Up-to-no-good gangs of vandals? We don’t know.
But no matter how much you loathe the man, no matter how much your skin crawls when you see his name on that building, vandalism is not the answer.
Constructive criticism works so much better.
