Three Big Takeaways: Silverado Showdown comes to an end

The Iowa State women’s golf team finished the third and final round of the Silverado Showdown on Wednesday.
The Cyclones dropped out of the top-10 overall to finish in 12th place. The Cyclones shot a 295 in round one, a 304 in round two and a 303 (+15) in round three to finish with a score of 902 (+38) overall.
Lower scoring day
In round three of the Silverado Showdown on Wednesday the scoring was lower than it was in round two. Only three of the 16 teams shot over 300. In round two 8 of the 16 teams shot in the 300s.
In round three the average score per player was the lowest of the tournament at 74.96 shots. Round one was a 76.33 and round two was 75.85.
The hardest hole on the course in round three proved to be No. 6 for all the golfers averaging 4.40 shots. The Cyclones on this hole in round three with Durisic the only Cyclone to bogey it. The others finished with pars.
Cyclones Struggle again
Ruby Chou was able to lead the way for the Cyclones in round three while the others struggled a bit.
Chou was able to end up in a tie with Charley Jacobs for 49th after shooting a 73 (+1) in round three. Chou shot a 38 on the front nine holes and a 35 on the back nine. Jacobs scored a 77 (+5) in the final round.
Taglao Jeeravivitaporn finished overall tied for 22nd after having a 76 (+4). Liyana Durisic finished tied for 33rd after shooting a 77 (+5). Warda Rawof finished tied for 70th after shooting a 78 (+6).
What’s next
The Iowa State women’s golf team will be back for their last regular season tournament on Monday, April 11-12. The tournament will be played at The Bruzzy in Gainesville, Texas.
After that tournament Iowa State will head to the Big 12 Championship in Hockley, Texas on Friday, April 22-24. Then the Cyclones will head to the NCAA regionals Monday, May 9-11.
