The men’s basketball team didn’t make it to the tournament after a sub-par season. The women’s basketball team failed to make it to the Sweet Sixteen. But over the weekend, Iowa State captured three, yes three, national championships.

Cael Sanderson did what everyone expected him to do. He took home his fourth NCAA wrestling championship. Joe Heskett and Aaron Holker joined Sanderson by taking home their first national championships. And more surprisingly, overall the team finished an improbable second.

It was truly a phenomenal year for the Cyclone wrestlers, and now they took home three, yes, three national championships.

For that, they deserve congratulations.
