Women’s Day celebration at library
Citizens can celebrate International Women’s Day from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Ames Public Library, 515 Douglas Ave.
The event, which will take place in the Farwell T. Brown Auditorium, is free and open to the public.
Air Force concert Wednesday night
The U.S. Air Force Heartland of America Band is hosting a free concert for Ames residents Wed. March 13. The concert begins at 7 p.m. in the City Auditorium, 615 Clark Ave.
The 60-member band is stationed at Offutt Air Force Base near Omaha, Neb. The musicians perform more than 450 concerts throughout the United States.
`Bridle Shower’ at county fairgrounds
One Heart Equestrian Therapy, Inc., will sponsor a “Bridle Shower” from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at the Story County Fairgrounds in Nevada.
The group is a new, volunteer-based, local non-profit organization offering therapeutic riding.
