Candidates for GSB will debate this week

The Government of the Student Body will hear from candidates running for next year’s positions in a series of debates this week.

Two debates will involve the two slates running for GSB executive seats. Steve Medanic, finance director, is running for president with Andrew Kothenbeutel, TRA senator. T.J. Schneider, director of academic affairs, is running for president with Joe Darr, off-campus.

The debates will be Tuesday at 3 p.m. in the Pioneer Room of the Memorial Union, and Thursday at 8 p.m. in the Gold Room of the Union.

Also debating will be candidates for the engineering and design seats.

Students running for the engineering seat are Kristen Banas, Dave Boike, Jason Carroll, Lee Edgar and Nathan Johnson. Students running for the design seat are Jessica Wordgran and Timothy Baker.

The debate for senate seats will be held Wednesday at 5 p.m. in the Pioneer Room.

All debates are open to the public. Students and faculty members are invited to attend.
