Bike club looking for bikes, volunteers

Friends of Central Iowa Biking is seeking donations of used bicycles and volunteers to help repair bikes for its Spring Bike Sale.

The bike sale is an annual event aimed at providing low-cost transportation for children and adults by recycling used and abandoned bicycles.

This year’s profits from the sale will go to the Story County Recreation Trails.

The group also accepts bikes for sale on consignment.

Evangelou memorial service to be Friday

A memorial service for Bill Evangelou, ISU professor of agronomy, will begin at 10 a.m. Friday in the Sun Room of the Memorial Union.

Evangelou, 55, died Sunday of a heart attack at his Ames home.
