LETTER:Christian bias not surprising

Steven Ritland

On a visit to the campus I picked up a copy of Friday’s Daily and read Kent Schmidgall’s excellent letter to the editor about the widespread intolerance toward Christianity. Such prejudice should not be surprising, however.

Centuries of atrocities in the name of Christ by counterfeit Christians have created much confusion about the true nature of Christianity.

There is a cosmic wrestling match in progress. The apostle wrote that “we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places” (Ephesians 6:12). God’s Word states that the light has come into the world, but that men love darkness rather than light, because their deeds are evil (John 3:19).

When I started at Iowa State, I was in that spiritual darkness, but I thank God that one day another student pointed me to the light and life that is available in the Lord Jesus Christ. Anyone interested in the details of that experience can find them at www.mysteryofGod.
